Sandra Cihlar, MS, NCC

Sandra Cihlar, MS, NCC has been a pastoral counselor since 1990, after receiving her MS from Loyola College in Baltimore, and her certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors. She was one of the founding partners of the Brookland Pastoral Center, and is the secretary of the Board of Directors.

Sandra's experience has been primarily in work with individual clients who are depressed, who are in mid-life or other transitions in their lives, or who have family-of-origin or codependency issues to confront. She has been an instructor and co-leader in the Adult Children of Dysfunctional Families therapy workshops offered by the Brookland Pastoral Center.

Sandra has a mild hearing impairment, which enables her to bring a special sensitivity to her work with clients with physical handicaps.

In addition to her counseling, Sandra works full time as a systems analyst with an economic consulting firm, which contributes to her understanding of the issues involved in professional and career stresses. Because of her dual work schedule, Sandra's counseling hours are in the evenings and on Saturday mornings.
